Public peering provides an efficient and cost-effective way to establish direct connectivity to a large number of ISPs, enterprises and CDN providers without the need to build individual transport links for these peers. Participants can connect to many other peers in order to improve the availability of information resources, reserve and improve network routes, as well as increase economic efficiency sending traffic to many different networks.
The service provides cost reduction for IP transit by consolidating of peering participants at Layer 2 of switches. The interconnection between the LL-IX participants is handled and determined based on the direct bilateral agreements. After reaching the agreement, between networks will be established the BGP communication. To make the interconnection between networks easier and faster participants have the possibility to peer with a large number of networks using the Route Server service.
Private peering is performed by direct traffic exchange between only two networks. The connection over a dedicated VLAN, Layer 1 or 2, offers a dedicated capacity that is not shared by any other network or third party.
Two networks place routers in the same data center, but run a direct cable between them rather than connecting via the exchange point switch. This approach is most useful and cost-efficient when the networks are exchanging a large volume of traffic, as the cost per megabit decreases when more traffic is shared.
Private Peering has a strong security level as the network is directly connected only with participants that expressed mutual peering agreement. The Private Peering architecture has less probability to be under the threat and ensures the consistency that helps the NOC detect and correct things more rapidly.
L2 Transport service allows connecting two or more geographically distant business offices into a unified secure network for data exchange. The connection is performed based on high layer protocols such as TCP/IP. The attractiveness of the service consists of a reliable and stable connection, that is handled and administered by the provider.
LL-IX provides its participants the opportunity to unite their networks/locations by using LL-IX L2 Transport service.
The equipment installed in the client’s office or technical center is connected to the service access port on LL-IX technical platform using a dedicated line with guaranteed speed. There are no particular limitations on transport's capacity as the bandwidth is determined by the participant’s selected tariff plan.
