Public peering provides an efficient and cost-effective way to establish direct connectivity to a large number of ISPs, enterprises and CDN providers without the need to build individual transport links for these peers. Participants can connect to many other peers in order to improve the availability of information resources, improve network routes, as well as increase the economic efficiency of peering by sending traffic to many different networks.
The service provides cost reduction for IP transit by connecting peering participants at Layer 2 switches. The interconnection between the LL-IX participants is handled and determined based on direct bilateral agreements. Once the participants reach an agreement, between their networks will be established BGP communication. To make the interconnection between networks easier and faster, participants can peer with a large number of networks using the Route Server service.
Private peering enables direct traffic exchange between two or more LL-IX participants. LL-IX participants interested in establishing a private peering connection receive a separate VLAN.
Private peering can be created between participants located at the same or different Points of Presence (PoPs). Also, participants have the opportunity to initiate private peering through additionally assigned ports. The establishment of private peering does not imply the allocation of an IP address to the participants from LL-IX side.
L2 Transport service allows connecting two or more geographically distant business offices into a unified secure network for data exchange. The connection is performed based on high layer protocols such as TCP/IP. The attractiveness of the service consists in a reliable and stable connection, that is handled and administered by the provider.
LL-IX provides its participants with the opportunity to unite their networks/locations by using the LL-IX L2 Transport service.
There is no need to set up an active connection to LL-IX to use L2 Transport. The participant can benefit from the service by independently establishing a connection to LL-IX equipment in the necessary countries.
